HOW DO WE WORK?

The starting point is encounter. No socio-cultural work without a meeting between at least two people. And this takes many forms: from saying hello on the street to everyone we meet (meet up) to home visits to people we haven't heard or seen for a while. And of course there are the parties, receptions,....
A second important line is: working with and for Dutch-speaking people. That is anyone working with who has an appetite for Dutch, young or old: non-Dutch-speaking parents with children in Dutch-language education, ex-pats looking to connect with the multilingual cultural life in Brussels, the low-skilled who want to increase their chances on the job market, but of course also Dutch-speakers who want to take part in a fun activity in Dutch.
Furthermore, we uphold the principle of co-production and co-ownership. Ten Noey is not owned by team Ten Noey, nor by the Board of Directors. Ten Noey belongs to the entire local community and can therefore be engaged by that community to respond to needs and requirements. But then we also count on commitment and cooperation from that community. Rarely does Ten Noey initiate something completely on its own. Almost always it is in collaboration.
And finally, our task in our operation is to bridge the difference between individuals, communities, genders,... (crossover).
How can we bring generations, language communities, rich and poor into dialogue?
